Before You Launch, Read This.

Every single week I talk to a founder who is spinning their wheels.

Not because their idea is not good enough. Not because they are not working hard enough. But because somewhere at the beginning, in all the excitement of backing themselves and deciding to build something, nobody sat them down and said, here is what you actually need to do first, and here is the order to do it in.

I had a client come to me a while back who had been in business for nearly a year. She had the product sorted, the passion sorted, the work ethic absolutely sorted. But something was not clicking. The inquiries were not coming in the way she expected. The right clients were not finding her. She was working incredibly hard and not seeing it reflected in the results.

When we started looking at the foundations together, the picture became pretty clear pretty quickly. The business name had never been properly registered. The brand was inconsistent across every platform she showed up on. The website existed, but it was not doing any of the work it should have been doing. The legal basics that protect a business before it takes on clients or customers had never been set up. None of it was unfixable. But all of it was costing her and her business.

And the hardest part of that conversation was knowing that none of it needed to happen that way. Not because she had done anything wrong. But because when you back yourself and start building, the sheer volume of things to figure out is enormous. And without someone to guide you through it, most people just start with what feels most urgent, which is usually a logo, and then build everything else reactively as problems appear.

The foundations of a business are not the exciting part. They are not the thing that gets talked about in the success story podcasts or the motivational posts about backing yourself. But they are the difference between a business that grows with confidence and one that spends its first year fixing things that could have been sorted in the first week.

I put together a free checklist for exactly this reason. It is called The Founder’s Checklist and it covers everything a founder needs to have in place before they launch. Registering your business, sorting your brand foundations, setting up your finances, the legal basics, your website, your marketing setup. All of it in one place, in a short check list, completely free.

If you are about to start something or you are in the early stages and something just feels a bit off, go and grab it here. It might be the most useful thing you when starting out.

I hope you are building something beautiful that makes the world a better place.
